CAGLIARI, Jun. 21, 1990 (AMP) — Italy 90 : England defeated Egypt by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Thursday night at the Stadio Sant'Elia in Cagliari.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by English defender Mark Wright in the 58th minute.
