STANFORD, Jun. 24, 1994 (AMP) — USA 94 : Brazil defeated Cameroon by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Friday afternoon at the Stanford Stadium.
Brazil dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by forward Romário in the 39th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Brazilians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Santos '66 and Bebeto '73).
The result put the Brazilians top of Group B with 6 points. Cameroon is third with one point. In their last game, Brazil will meet second-placed Sweden at the Stanford Stadium on June 28, while Cameroon will face Russia.
