FOXBOROUGH, Jun. 21, 1994 (AMP) — USA 94 : Argentina defeated Greece by a big score of 4-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Tuesday at the Foxboro Stadium in Foxborough.
Gabriel Batistuta scored tripple goals
Argentina dominated the first half thanks to goals from Batistuta ('2, '44). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Argentines further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Maradona '60 and Batistuta '90/penalty).
The result put the Argentine top of Group D with 3 points. In their next game, Argentina will meet Nigeria at the Foxboro Stadium on June 25, while Greece will face Bulgaria.
