FOXBOROUGH, Jun. 30, 1994 (AMP) — USA 94 : Nigeria defeated Greece by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Thursday night at the Foxboro Stadium in Foxborough.
Nigeria dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by midfielder Finidi George in the 45th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Nigerians further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Amokachi seconds before the end of regulation.
