World Cup 1998 : Chile held to a 1-1 draw by Cameroon but qualifies for the Round of 16
NANTES, Jun. 23, 1998 (AMP) — France 98 : Chile tied 1-1 with Cameroon (halftime: 1-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Tuesday afternoon at the Stade de la Beaujoire in Nantes.
The Chilians started off well by taking the lead thanks to Chilian midfielder José Luis Sierra in the 20th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Cameroon with a saving goal from Cameroonian forward Patrick M'Boma in the 55th minute.
