MONTPELLIER, Jun. 22, 1998 (AMP) — France 98 : Colombia defeated Tunisia by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Monday afternoon at the Stade de la Mosson in Montpellier.
Tunisia made the Colombians doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by Colombian forward Léider Preciado with just 7 minutes remaining in regulation time.
The result put the Colombians third in Group G with 3 points. Tunisia is bottom with no points. In their last game, Colombia will meet group leaders England at the Stade de la Mosson on June 26, while Tunisia will face Romania.
