World Cup 1998 : Romania held to a 1-1 draw by Tunisia but qualifies for the Round of 16
SAINT DENIS, Jun. 26, 1998 (AMP) — France 98 : Romania tied 1-1 with Tunisia (halftime: 0-1), in a World Cup group stage game on Friday night at the Stade de France in Saint Denis.
The Tunisians started off well by taking the lead thanks to Tunisian midfielder Skander Souayah on penalty in the 12th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Romania with a saving goal from Romanian forward Viorel Moldovan in the 72nd minute.
