MUNICH, Jun. 21, 2006 (AMP) — Germany 2006 : Ivory Coast defeated Serbia and Montenegro by a score of 3-2 (halftime: 1-2), in a World Cup group stage game on Wednesday night at the Allianz Arena in Munich.
Aruna Dindane scored dual goals
Serbia and Montenegro had started off well by taking the lead thanks to goals by Žigić ('10) and Ilić ('20), while Ivory Coast only scored once Dindane ('37 on penalty). Trailing 2-1 at half time, the Ivorians nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring twice in the second period (Dindane '67 and Kalou '86 on penalty).
