JOHANNESBURG, Jun. 15, 2010 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 : Brazil defeated North Korea by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Tuesday night at the Ellis Park Stadium in Johannesburg.
North Korea made the Brazilians doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with goals by Maicon ('55) and Elano ('72).
The result put the Brazilians top of Group G with 3 points. In their next game, Brazil will meet second-placed Ivory Coast at the Ellis Park Stadium on June 20, while North Korea will face Portugal.
