SãO PAULO, Jun. 12, 2014 (AMP) — Brazil 2014 : Brazil defeated Croatia by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 1-1), in a World Cup group stage game on Thursday afternoon at the Arena Corinthians in São Paulo.
Neymar scored dual goals
Brazilian defender Marcelo opened the score in the 11th minute with an own goal, before seeing Brazil catch up in the 29th minute thanks to Neymar. 1-1 at half time. The Brazilians eventually won the game in the second period with two more goals by Neymar ('71 on penalty) and Oscar ('90).
The result put the Brazilians top of Group A with 3 points. In their next game, Brazil will meet Mexico at the Arena Corinthians on June 17, while Croatia will face Cameroon.
