BELO HORIZONTE, Jun. 14, 2014 (AMP) — Brazil 2014 : Colombia defeated Greece by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Saturday afternoon at the Mineirao Stadium in Belo Horizonte.
Colombia dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by defender Pablo Armero in the 5th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Colombians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Gutiérrez '58 and Rodríguez '90).
The result put the Colombians top of Group C with 3 points. In their next game, Colombia will meet Ivory Coast at the Mineirao Stadium on June 19, while Greece will face Japan.
