World Cup 2014 : Colombia beats Japan 4-1 to qualify for the Round of 16
CUIABá, Jun. 24, 2014 (AMP) — Brazil 2014 : Colombia defeated Japan by a score of 4-1 (halftime: 1-1), in a World Cup group stage game on Tuesday afternoon at the Arena Pantanal in Cuiabá.
Jackson Martínez scored dual goals
Colombian midfielder Juan Guillermo Cuadrado opened the score in the 17th minute on penalty, before seeing Japan catch up in the 45th minute thanks to Shinji Okazaki. 1-1 at half time. The Colombians eventually won the game in the second period with three more goals by Martínez ('55, '82) and Rodríguez ('90).
