RIO DE JANEIRO, Jun. 15, 2014 (AMP) — Brazil 2014 : Argentina defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Sunday night at the Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.
Argentina dominated the first half as a result of the unfortunate own goal scored by defender Sead Kolasinac in the 3rd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Argentines further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Messi in the 65th minute.
The result put the Argentine top of Group F with 3 points. In their next game, Argentina will meet Iran at the Maracanã Stadium on June 21, while Bosnia and Herzegovina will face Nigeria.
