PORTO ALEGRE, Jun. 25, 2014 (AMP) — Brazil 2014 : Argentina defeated Nigeria by a score of 3-2 (halftime: 2-1), in a World Cup group stage game on Wednesday afternoon at the Beira-Rio Stadium in Porto Alegre.

Argentina dominated the first half thanks to goals from Messi ('3, '45). Leading 2-1 at the break, the Argentines further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Rojo in the 50th minute.
