PORTO ALEGRE, Jun. 22, 2014 (AMP) — Brazil 2014 : Algeria defeated South Korea by a score of 4-2 (halftime: 3-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Sunday afternoon at the Beira-Rio Stadium in Porto Alegre.
Algeria dominated the first half thanks to goals from Slimani ('26), Halliche ('28) and Djabou ('38). Leading 3-0 at the break, the Algerians further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Brahimi in the 62nd minute.
The result put the Algerians second in Group H with 3 points. South Korea is bottom with one point. In their last game, Algeria will meet third-placed Russia at the Beira-Rio Stadium on June 26, while South Korea will face Belgium.
