World Cup 2018 : Japan beats Colombia 2-1
SARANSK, Jun. 19, 2018 (AMP) — Russia 2018 : Japan defeated Colombia by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-1), in a World Cup group stage game on Tuesday afternoon at the Mordovia Arena in Saransk.
Japanese midfielder Shinji Kagawa opened the score in the 6th minute on penalty, before seeing Colombia catch up in the 39th minute thanks to Juan Fernando Quintero. 1-1 at half time. The Japaneses eventually won the game in the second period with with a goal by Osako in the 73rd minute.
The result put the Japanese top of Group H with 3 points. In their next game, Japan will meet Senegal at the Mordovia Arena on June 24, while Colombia will face Poland.
