GERMANY, Oct. 20, 2017 (AMP) — Bundesliga / Match day 9: Two wins in a row for Schalke 04. After their 0-2 win against Hertha Berlin on October 14, the Royal Blues continued their sensational form in the Bundesliga with a 2-0 victory over Mainz this Friday.
Schalke 04 dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by midfielder Leon Goretzka in the 13th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Royal Blues further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Burgstaller in the 74th minute.
FC Schalke 04 climbed to fourth place with 16 points from 9 games, tie on points with RB Leipzig, which has a game in hand.
