GERMANY, Oct. 21, 2017 (AMP) — Bundesliga / Match day 9: After two straigth victories against Hannover 96 and Werder Bremen, the Foals lost 5-1 against Bayer Leverkusen.
Mönchengladbach had started off well by taking the lead in the 7th minute with a goal by American defender Fabian Johnson. Trailing 1-0 at half time, Bayer Leverkusen players nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring five times in the second period (Bender '48, Bailey Leon '59, Brandt '61, Volland '69 and Pohjanpalo '81).
Borussia Mönchengladbach are down in 8th place with 14 points from 9 games, tie on points with Eintracht Frankfurt.
