MONGOMO, Jan. 23, 2015 (AMP) — Equatorial Guinea 2015 : Ghana defeated Algeria by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a AFCON group stage game on Friday afternoon at the Estadio de Mongomo.
45 minutes of play and neither the Ghanaians nor the Algerians have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Ghanaian forward Asamoah Gyan in stoppage time.
The result put the Algerians top of Group C with 3 points. Ghana is third with 3 points. In their last game, Algeria will meet second-placed Senegal at the Estadio de Mongomo on January 27, while Ghana will face South Africa.
