No goals in the first half and one each in the second, Manyisa ('47) for South Africa, Mbodj ('60) for Senegal.
The result put the Senegalese top of Group C with 4 points. South Africa is bottom with one point. In their last game, Senegal will meet second-placed Algeria at the Estadio de Mongomo on January 27, while South Africa will face Ghana.
