Championship (Week 23) : Wigan Athletic defeats Leeds United 2-0
ENGLAND, Dec. 26, 2014 (AMP) — Championship / Match day 23: After four straigth defeats, the Latics returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Leeds United this Friday.
Wigan Athletic dominated the first half as a result of the unfortunate own goal scored by defender Liam Cooper in the 11th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Latics further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by McClean with just 7 minutes remaining in regulation time.
Leeds United FC are down in 20th place with 24 points from 23 games, one point behind Huddersfield Town AFC.
