Championship (Week 33) : Newcastle beats Aston Villa 2-0
ENGLAND, Feb. 20, 2017 (AMP) — Championship / Match day 33: After their 2-2 draw against Norwich City on February 14, the Magpies bounced back with a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa this Monday.
Newcastle dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by French forward Yoan Gouffran in the 42nd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Magpies further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Lansbury into his own net in the 59th minute.
Newcastle United remains in first place with 69 points from 32 games, one point ahead of runner-up Brighton and Hove Albion FC.
