ENGLAND, Apr. 5, 2017 (AMP) — Championship / Match day 40: Two wins in a row for Newcastle. After their 2-1 win against Wigan Athletic on April 1, the Magpies continued their sensational form in the Championship with a 1-0 victory over Burton Albion this Wednesday.

Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Newcastle midfielder Matt Ritchie in the 68th minute.

Newcastle United remains in first place with 84 points from 40 games, one point ahead of runner-up Brighton and Hove Albion FC.
