Championship (Week 40) : Brighton beats Birmingham City 3-1

ENGLAND, Apr. 4, 2017 (AMP) — Championship / Match day 40: Two wins in a row for Brighton & Hove Albion. After their 1-0 win against Blackburn Rovers on April 1, the Seagulls continued their sensational form in the Championship with a 3-1 victory over Birmingham City this Tuesday.

Brighton & Hove Albion dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by forward Glenn Murray in the 2nd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Seagulls further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Hemed '48 and Hünemeier '54).

Brighton and Hove Albion FC climbed to first place with 83 points from 40 games, a 2-point lead over runner-up Newcastle United, which has a game in hand.
