Championship (Week 42) : Wigan Athletic defeats Barnsley 3-2

ENGLAND, Apr. 13, 2017 (AMP) — Championship / Match day 42: Two wins in a row for Wigan Athletic. After their 3-2 win against Rotherham United on April 8, the Latics continued their sensational form in the Championship with a 3-2 victory over Barnsley this Thursday.

Nick Powell scored tripple goals

Barnsley had started off well by taking the lead in the 42nd minute with a goal by forward Adam Armstrong. Trailing 1-0 at half time, the Latics nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring three times in the second period (Powell '71, '72, '82 on penalty).

Barnsley FC remains in 13rd place with 56 points from 42 games, tie on points with Brentford FC, which has a game in hand.
