BRASíLIA, Jun. 15, 2013 (AMP) — Brazil 2013 : Brazil defeated Japan by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a Confederations Cup group stage game on Saturday afternoon at the Mane Garrincha Stadium in Brasília.
Brazil dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by forward Neymar in the 3rd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Brazilians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Paulinho '48 and Jô '90).
The result put the Brazilians top of Group A with 3 points. In their next game, Brazil will meet Mexico at the Mane Garrincha Stadium on June 19, while Japan will face Italy.
