Colombia loses to Costa Rica but reaches Copa América quarterfinals
HOUSTON, Jun. 11, 2016 (AMP) — Centenario : Costa Rica defeated Colombia by a score of 3-2 (halftime: 2-1), in a Copa América group stage game on Saturday night at the NRG Stadium in Houston.
Costa Rica dominated the first half thanks to goals from Venegas ('2) and Fabra ('34 own). Leading 2-1 at the break, the Costa Ricans further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Borges in the 58th minute.
