TOKYO, Dec. 12, 2017 (AMP) — Japan 2017 : Japan defeated China by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-0), in a East Asian Cup final round game (Final Tournament) on Tuesday night at the Ajinomoto Stadium in Tokyo.
China made the Japaneses doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with goals by Kobayashi ('84) and Shōji ('88).
The result put the Japanese top of the group with 6 points. China is third with one point. In their last game, Japan will meet second-placed South Korea at the Ajinomoto Stadium on December 16, while China will face North Korea.
