TOULOUSE, Jun. 13, 2016 (AMP) — France 2016 : Spain defeated Czech republic by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a Euro group stage game on Monday afternoon at the Toulouse Stadium.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by Spanish defender Gerard Piqué with just 3 minutes remaining in regulation time.
The result put the Spaniard top of Group D with 3 points. In their next game, Spain will meet third-placed Turkey at the Toulouse Stadium on June 17, while Czech republic will face Croatia.
