Gulf Cup 2014 : Iraq and Oman play to a 1-1 draw
RIYADH, Nov. 17, 2014 (AMP) — Saudi Arabia 2014 : Iraq tied 1-1 with Oman (halftime: 1-0), in a Gulf Cup group stage game on Monday night at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium in Riyadh.
The Iraqis started off well by taking the lead thanks to Kasim in the 14th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Oman with a saving goal from Mubarak on penalty in the 51st minute.
The result put the Omani third in Group B with 2 points. Iraq is bottom with one point. In their last game, Oman will meet group leaders Kuwait at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium on November 20, while Iraq will face the United Arab Emirates.
