La Liga (Week 5) : Rayo defeats Gijon 2-1
SPAIN, Sep. 23, 2015 (AMP) — La Liga / Match day 5: Two wins in a row for Rayo Vallecano. After their 0-1 win against Las Palmas on September 20, Los Franjirrojos continued their sensational form in the La Liga with a 2-1 victory over Sporting Gijon this Wednesday.
Rayo Vallecano dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by midfielder Roberto Trashorras in the 40th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, Los Franjirrojos further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Guerra in the 48th minute.
Rayo Vallecano de Madrid climbed to 8th place with 7 points from 5 games, only one point behind SD Eibar.
