La Liga (Week 7) : Gijon beats Espanyol 2-1
SPAIN, Oct. 3, 2015 (AMP) — La Liga / Match day 7: After losing 2-1 to Rayo Vallecano on September 27 and 1-2 to Real Betis on September 27, Los Rojiblancos bounced back with a 2-1 victory over Espanyol this Saturday.
Sporting Gijon dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Halilovic Alen in the 10th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, Los Rojiblancos further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Menendez Alex in stoppage time.
RCD Espanyol remains in 9th place with 9 points from 7 games, tie on points with Valencia CF, which has a game in hand.
