La Liga (Week 18) : Atletico beats Levante 1-0
SPAIN, Jan. 2, 2016 (AMP) — La Liga / Match day 18: Two wins in a row for Atletico Madrid. After their 0-2 win against Rayo Vallecano on December 30, Los Colchoneros continued their sensational form in the La Liga with a 1-0 victory over Levante this Saturday.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Ghanaian midfielder Partey Thomas with just 9 minutes remaining in regulation time.
Atletico Madrid climbed to first place with 41 points from 18 games, a 2-point lead over runner-up FC Barcelona, which has a game in hand.
