La Liga (Week 28) : Bilbao defeats Gijon 2-0
SPAIN, Mar. 6, 2016 (AMP) — La Liga / Match day 28: Three wins in a row for Athletic Bilbao. After their success against Valencia and Deportivo La Coruna, Los Leones continued their sensational form in the La Liga with a 2-0 victory over Sporting Gijon this Sunday.
Athletic Bilbao dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by midfielder Etxebarria Benat in the 27th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, Los Leones further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by De Marcos Oscar in the 59th minute.
Athletic Bilbao climbed to 6th place with 44 points from 28 games, only one point behind Sevilla FC.
