Ligue 2 (Week 5) : Sochaux and Brest tied at 2-2
FRANCE, Aug. 29, 2016 (AMP) — Ligue 2 / Match day 5: The match between actual leader Brest and Sochaux ended in a frustrating 2-2 draw on Monday.
Sochaux players started off well by taking the lead thanks to Malagasy forward Andriatsima Faneva in the 25th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, and despite Andriatsima Faneva goal ('47) in the second period, they could not prevent a comeback by Brest with goals by Neal Maupay ('90) and Joseph-monrose Steven ('90).
Stade Brest remains in first place with 11 points from 5 games, one point ahead of runner-up Amiens Sporting Club.
