AUCKLAND, Jul. 8, 2002 (AMP) — New Zealand 2002 : Vanuatu defeated the Fiji by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a OFC Nations Cup group stage game on Monday at the Ericsson Stadium in Auckland.
All the action happened in the first half, with Marango goal in the 6th minute.
The result put the Fijians second in Group A with 3 points. Vanuatu is third with 3 points. In their last game, the Fiji will meet group leaders Australia at the Ericsson Stadium on July 10, while Vanuatu will face New Caledonia.
