New Caledonia beats Samoa to advance to OFC Nations Cup semifinals
HONIARA, Jun. 5, 2012 (AMP) — Solomon 2012 : New Caledonia defeated Samoa by a big score of 9-0 (halftime: 6-0), in a OFC Nations Cup group stage game on Tuesday at the Lawson Tama Stadium in Honiara.
Haeko served up another goal feast
New Caledonia dominated the first half thanks to goals from R. Kayara ('10), Haeko ('11, '45), Kabeu ('22), Ixoée ('25 on penalty) and Gnipate ('44). Leading 6-0 at the break, the New Caledonians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring three times (Haeko '71, '89, '90).
