Primeira Liga (Week 15) : Benfica beats Penafiel 3-0
PORTUGAL, Jan. 4, 2015 (AMP) — Primeira Liga / Match day 15: 7 wins in a row for Benfica. After their success against Rio Ave, Nacional, Académica Coimbra, Belenenses, Porto and Gil Vicente, the Eagles continued their sensational form in the Primeira Liga with a 3-0 victory over Penafiel this Sunday.
Benfica dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Brazilian midfielder Talisca in the 37th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Eagles further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Jonas '78 and Jardel '88).
SL Benfica remains in first place with 40 points from 15 games, a 6-point lead over runner-up FC Porto.
