Primeira Liga (Week 16) : Gil Vicente defeats Penafiel 2-1
PORTUGAL, Jan. 11, 2015 (AMP) — Primeira Liga / Match day 16: After losing 1-0 to Benfica on January 3 and 1-5 to Porto on January 3, the Gilists bounced back with a 2-1 victory over Penafiel this Sunday.
Penafiel had started off well by taking the lead in the 45th minute with a goal by forward Rabiola. Trailing 1-0 at half time, the Gilists nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring twice in the second period (Vilela '54 on penalty and Simy '73).
FC Penafiel remains in 17th place with 11 points from 16 games, one point behind Académica Coimbra.
