Primeira Liga (Week 20) : Sporting beats Académica 3-2
PORTUGAL, Jan. 30, 2016 (AMP) — Primeira Liga / Match day 20: Two wins in a row for Sporting Lisbon. After their 1-3 win against Paços de Ferreira on January 23, the Sportinguistas continued their sensational form in the Primeira Liga with a 3-2 victory over Académica Coimbra this Saturday.
Académica Coimbra opened the score in the score in the 8th minute thanks to Soares Rafa, before Sporting Lisbon regained the advantage with Silva Adrien ('30) and Ruiz Bryan ('43). Leading 2-1 at the break, the Sportinguistas further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Montero Fredy with just 6 minutes remaining in regulation time.
Sporting Clube de Portugal remains in first place with 51 points from 20 games, a 5-point lead over runner-up SL Benfica, which has a game in hand.
