Primeira Liga (Week 24) : Rio Ave beats Boavista 2-1
PORTUGAL, Feb. 27, 2016 (AMP) — Primeira Liga / Match day 24: Two wins in a row for Rio Ave. After their 0-2 win against Académica Coimbra on February 20, Rio Grande continued their sensational form in the Primeira Liga with a 2-1 victory over Boavista this Saturday.
Rio Ave dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by forward Hélder Postiga in the 23rd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, Rio Grande further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Kayembe in the 78th minute.
Rio Ave FC climbed to fifth place with 36 points from 24 games, 7 points behind SG Braga, which has a game in hand.
