Primeira Liga (Week 27) : Sporting beats Arouca 5-1
PORTUGAL, Mar. 19, 2016 (AMP) — Primeira Liga / Match day 27: Two wins in a row for Sporting Lisbon. After their 1-2 win against Estoril on March 12, the Sportinguistas continued their sensational form in the Primeira Liga with a 5-1 victory over Arouca this Saturday.
Gutierrez Teofilo and Mario Joao scored dual goals
Sporting Lisbon dominated the first half thanks to goals from Gutierrez Teofilo ('16, '45) and Mario Joao ('19, '32). Leading 4-0 at the break, the Sportinguistas further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Ruiz Bryan in the 60th minute.
Sporting Clube de Portugal climbed to first place with 65 points from 27 games, one point ahead of runner-up SL Benfica, which has a game in hand.
