One goal for both sides in the first half, Lopes Rafael ('4) for Chaves, Dost ('45) for Sporting Lisbon and one each in the second, Martins ('87) for Chaves, Dost ('75) for Sporting Lisbon.
Sporting Clube de Portugal climbed to third place with 34 points from 17 games, only one point behind FC Porto, which has a game in hand.
