PORTUGAL, Jan. 8, 2017 (AMP) — Primeira Liga / Match day 16: The match between Rio Ave and Chaves ended in a 2-2 draw on Sunday.
Rio Ave players started off well by taking the lead thanks to Rio Ave midfielder Monteiro Tarantini in the 18th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, and despite Guedes Helder goal ('80) in the second period, they could not prevent a comeback by Chaves with goals by Fábio Martins ('54) and Lopes Rafael ('75).
Rio Ave FC remains in 6th place with 24 points from 16 games, 6 points behind Vitoria SC.
