Segunda division (Week 7) : Las Palmas draw 1-1 with Gijon
SPAIN, Oct. 4, 2014 (AMP) — Segunda division / Match day 7: The match between actual leader Las Palmas and Sporting Gijon ended in a frustrating 1-1 draw on Saturday.
Sporting Gijon players started off well by taking the lead thanks to Jony in the 41st minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Las Palmas with a saving goal from Araujo in the 79th minute.
UD Las Palmas remains in first place with 14 points from 7 games, tie on points with runner-up Girona FC.
