SPAIN, May. 20, 2015 (AMP) — Segunda division / Match day 39: After their 1-1 draw against Zaragoza on May 17, the Blanquivermells returned to winning ways with a 3-0 victory over Alavés this Wednesday.
Mata scored dual goals
Girona dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Mata in the 25th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Blanquivermells further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Mata '53 and Sanchon '88).
Girona FC remains in second place with 75 points from 39 games, 3 points behind Real Betis, which has a game in hand.
