Segunda division (Week 22) : Girona defeats Athletic B 2-1
SPAIN, Jan. 23, 2016 (AMP) — Segunda division / Match day 22: Two wins in a row for Girona. After their 4-0 win against Ponferradina on January 17, the Blanquivermells continued their sensational form in the Segunda division with a 2-1 victory over Bilbao Athletic this Saturday.
Lejeune Florian opened the score in the 22nd minute, before seeing Bilbao Athletic catch up in the 29th minute thanks to Aketxe Ager. 1-1 at half time. The Blanquivermells eventually won the game in the second period with with a goal by Borja Garcia with just 5 minutes remaining in regulation time.
Girona FC climbed to 12nd place with 28 points from 22 games, only one point behind CD Mirandés, which has a game in hand.
