Segunda division (Week 40) : Mallorca beats Elche 2-1
SPAIN, May. 24, 2016 (AMP) — Segunda division / Match day 40: After losing 1-0 to Girona on May 21, Los Bermellones returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Elche this Tuesday.
Mallorca dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Junior Lago in the 23rd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, Los Bermellones further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Roige Rodriguez Pol in the 79th minute.
Elche CF remains in 10th place with 56 points from 40 games, 2 points behind Cordoba CF, which has a game in hand.
