Segunda division (Week 41) : Girona defeats Alcorcon 2-0
SPAIN, May. 29, 2016 (AMP) — Segunda division / Match day 41: After their 0-0 draw against Valladolid on May 24, the Blanquivermells returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Alcorcon this Sunday.
Girona dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Sobrino Ruben in the 17th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Blanquivermells further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Herrera Cristian in the 75th minute.
Girona FC climbed to 6th place with 63 points from 41 games, only one point behind Cordoba CF.
