Yugoslavia draws with Paraguay to reach World Cup quarterfinals
ESKILSTUNA, Jun. 15, 1958 (AMP) — Sweden 58 : Paraguay tied 3-3 with Yugoslavia (halftime: 1-2), in a World Cup group stage game on Sunday night at Tunavallen in Eskilstuna.
The Yugoslavs started off well by taking the lead thanks to goals by Ognjanović ('18) and Veselinović ('21) while the Paraguayans only scored once Parodi ('20). However, even though they were leading 2-1 at half time, and despite Rajkov goal ('73) in the second period, they could not prevent a comeback by Paraguay with goals by Juan Bautista Agüero ('52) and Jorge Lino Romero ('80).
